CURRENT SITUATION

1% of human population is suffering from epilepsy.

60% of patients does not respond to medical treatment.

EEG is the methodology how we can capture the electrical activity of the brain using sensors implanted into the skull/brain generating tons of data.

Epilepsy is a disorder of the neurons that can be identified through specific patterns in EEG signals.

Today only a basic filtering of the data is being processed by computers.


MAIN GOAL

Main goal is to turn a computer-assisted, but basically still „naked eye” visual analysis of the EEG signals to an automatic big data solution.


CHALLENGE

The challenge is to highlight the abnormal patterns through identifying special signals, like High Frequency Oscillations (HFO-s).
